Last night the Rev. and I broke the big news to family and friends that we are expecting baby number five sometime in late January, or most likely very early February (I have 41 week babies). We are very excited, mixed with normal amounts of anxiety, blended with robust amounts of fatigue and nausea on my part.
I am 11 weeks pregnant now, and have known for quite some time, but kept it under wraps for a bit, it is always fun to have your own little secret. BUT my uterus has quite a memory, so my wardrobe is becoming limited already, and people are either going to begin to think that I need to join Weight Watchers, or like Andrew, will think I am suffering from depression due to my frequent naps and my passing up of my favorite things such as coffee and Coca Cola. I'm not even forgoing coffee for health reasons, I'm not that strong willed. It just so happens that coffee currently tastes like pond water to my hormonal tongue. I'll be very thankful when I can return to eating and drinking some of my very favorite things. For now I will satisfy myself with 8 servings of fruit a day, my current obsession.
So watch here, for more updates than you may care to read. Feel free to pass along your anti nausea cures!

Yay and congrats! :)
Congratulations again! So when Heidi was telling us she was joining our club it must have been hard not saying,"Well actually I'm moving up to the mom of five kids club."?? Can't wait to meet the newest Thompson.
The only cure for nausea that I know of is to eat small snacks throughout the day but you probably already know that since you've done this before.
Nancy, it was REALLY killing me, since our due dates are ONE day apart! See how good I am at secret keeping? Got any secrets for me?
Congratulations!!! Good for you! If I didn't already have 5 I might think about having another go at it!!! I hope all continues to go well for you. Keep snacking on crackers and get plenty of rest. As awful as it is, being sick is a good sign! Have a great rest of your weekend and many blessings to your family and your new church building too.
Robyn...I had to keep up with you! You guys seem to have so much fun with five...and with Ethan turning five, I think we missed having a wee one around!
Congratulations, friend! Strawberries are high in one of those B vitamins--known to curb nausea. When I was pregnant with Emma I couldn't get enough lemon drops--they really helped. I've also heard that ginger helps. Just don't go to Fargo and eat a Carne Asada Steak dinner...you know how that ended...
Woo Hoo! Congratulations! Happy News!
Congratulations my friend :) I am so happy for you all... I 'thought' from our conversation the other day that maybe just maybe something like this was either coming or 'in the works' :)
Congratulations my friends! I am so happy for your family!
How exciting! Congratulations!!
And I would love to hear more about the job you were talking about - email me when you get time: anderson.lissa@gmail.com
Thanks!
Congrats! I've been following your blog for awhile now. I'm 12 weeks pg and if you can find some cure for the morning sickness I'd love to hear it! I'm hoping it goes away in the 2nd trimester, it didn't w/ my first though!
Hi, Pam.
I am so tickled for you and Matt. Can't wait to hear some name ideas.
Sorry I can't help solve your nausea problem. Wasn't blessed with that particular problem while pregnant. You're an ol' pro at this. Hang in there :)
Great talking to you today. Congrats to the Thompsons!
Oh my gosh!!! Congrats! I am so happy for you guys!
I am so happy for you guys!! I am free to babysit anytime!!
Well done! :D Congratulations!
Hooray! :) :) :)
Congrats! I just got home from San Fran. and turned on the computer to 286 e-mails. I quickly skimmed and since you never post to Loopers any more, I read yours along with about 5 other of those 286. I couldn't believe #5 so then I had to check out your blog.
I was hospitalized with morning sickness with Lamb 1 so I've truly tried everything. Preggie Drops work great once you are past actually getting sick and just feel sick. I have a gift for you so I'll try to remember to send you some Preggie Drops along with your other gift. I hope you have a girl so I have hope of having a girl with #4 like Jenn Wolf or #5 like you!
C and I wholeheartedly support the use of phenergan for nausea, but then again, we also believe in better living through chemistry.
You know, caffeine free coke is not disgusting. It almost tastes like the real thing.
Congrats to her and to him.
Congrats, again! I was sick for almost the entire time with both my pregnancies. I got through it by eating what I was craving. It seemed that my body knew what I needed. Keeping you in my prayers!
Susan
